How does the roughness on the welds act?

Depending on Dockweiler quality, welds are offered as “polished" or "welded". If the welding seams are polished, the roughness of the surrounding surfaces applies.

Is Dockweiler a known shipper and what does that mean?

Yes, we have been certified as a known consignor by the German Federal Aviation Authority and are therefore entitled to send "secure" air cargo.
Thanks to this certification and regular audits, our air cargo is handled faster, as extensive inspections at the airport are no longer necessary.

Is Dockweiler a tube manufacturer?

No. We purify the surfaces of tubes and manufacture standard fittings as well as special made-to-order solutions.

Is there a minimum order amount?

Yes. The minimum order amount is €200.00 or a €50.00 minimum quantity surcharge is incurred.

Is there a reference number for pick-ups?

Yes. Please quote the 6-digit shipment number indicated on our collection orders as the pick-up reference number. The shipment number is also included on our delivery notes, packing lists and invoices.

What do bf, ac and ep mean in terms of Dockweiler surface qualities?

The abbreviation bf stands for bright finish and means that the inner surfaces of the tubes and fittings are the same as from the tube mill and do not undergo any further surface treatment. The abbreviation ba (bright annealed) are also used synonymously.
By ac, an anodically cleaned surface is meant. This is a light electropolish which does not remove the surface but only cleans and polishes it. This gives an ac surface a shiny appearance.
On electropolished surfaces (ep is short for electropolished) however, the surface is removed. This results in an extremely homogeneous surface. The term "as smooth as glass" fits here in the truest sense of the phrase.

What does "confirmed delivery date" mean?

Delivery dates specified on the offer or order confirmation are always subject to the usual caveats. Should we become aware of a delay, we will inform you as quickly as possible in advance. However, production or delivery on a fixed date can be arranged. 

What does make-to-order production mean?

Apart from our standard products and regular new production, we also offer make-to-order production. The decisive factor here is tool and machine capacity and the expected staff and set-up times required to offer the customer timely production at the quality desired.

What is a weld log?

The "weld log" is a sheet on which the welder records when, and the program and machine used to weld a seam.
