Certification is verified by a manufacturer's acceptance representative independent from the production department. A manufacturer may include on the 3.1 acceptance test certificate test results determined on the basis of specific testing of the primary or raw material, provided procedures to ensure traceability are used and it is able to issue the appropriate test certificate".
What is BN2?
Baseler Norm 2 (BN2 for short) is intended to ensure that uniform corrosion resistance can be assumed even when products of different origin and batches are used. This standard describes the technical material requirements for products made of austenitic, stainless steel with molybdenum, based on 1.4435 steel (X2CrNiMo18-14-3) according to EN 10088, prEN 10028-7 as well as DIN 17440 and 316L (AISI), but with narrower analytical limits and defined ferrite content (< 0.5%).
What is the alloy surcharge?
The alloy surcharge is a part of the sales price, which is charged by stainless steel dealers in addition to the basic price. The alloy surcharge is valid for one month and depends on the price development on the London Metal Exchange of the alloying elements added to stainless steels: chromium, nickel, titanium, molybdenum and niobium.
As there have been strong fluctuations in the last few years, Dockweiler decided to add this surcharge only for the tubes group of products. For fittings, this price is already included in the list prices. Alloy Surcharges
What is the difference between conventional orbital welding and the Dockweiler IO welding process?
In conventional orbital welding technology, welding is performed from the outside using welding guns. In the Dockweiler IO welding process, however, welding is performed from the inside. The advantage of this is production with very low dead space. In IO welding technology, inner diameters of 4 mm or larger can be welded.
What tube lengths are available from Dockweiler?
We generally offer 6.00 m commercial lengths. This is however subject to a specific tolerance (from 5.90 to 6.09 m). Furthermore, we reserve the right to supply a maximum of 10% short lengths (at least 3 m long). Fixed lengths can also be supplied on request.
Which courier, express and parcel service providers does Dockweiler work with?
Usually we ship with DHL Express. In Germany you will receive your items by 12 noon on the following business day (exceptions here are parcels longer than 120 cm or over 30 kg). If required, we will also be happy to check earlier delivery options. In Europe, delivery in most countries will take place on the following business day.
